Jiaqi Xu, born in Hangzhou, China. Bachelor’s degree in photography from Zhejiang University of Media and Communications, research student in the Department of Imaging at Musashino Art University, Japan. She has been in residence at the PILOTENKUECHE in Leipzig, Germany in 2022, where she has been working in a variety of mediums such as installation, sculpture,painting, video, etc.
Her work connects with elements of the occult, semiotics, nature, and archaeology, and attempts to explore and create a unique metaphorical field of energy. While using the paradoxical sense of different materials to express her unique aesthetic thinking, she believes that beauty is the only source that connects the free will of the body.
