Pan Tao’s world is the world she sees up close every day. Simply put, it is the essence of the world she has seen. The images painted-mountains, figures, anatomical parts, animals… are all easily recognizable, but do not go into details or descriptions. Pan Tao does not pursue realism or lifelikeness but pays more attention to creating an atmosphere and a state of mind. The image does not pursue fullness, on the contrary: it presents large base colours, albeit in varying shades, either obvious single strokes or the gradual development of dominant tones from the stains left by overlapping strokes. The effect is based on the choice of emphasis, whether dripping colour stains or different erasure strokes: horizontal, vertical, angled, colour-saturated touches or dry, chafing strokes ……
